Church...

Downtown Edmonton Christian City Church - loving God, people, urban culture and coffee - C3 Metro Edmonton

...fun?

Well, that's what we are here at C3Metro.

We value people.

We value relationships.

We believe in enjoying life on the journey.

We know relationships aren't necessarily easy, but they are worth it.

We believe in people pursuing and achieving their purpose.

We believe in the power to change and being relevant.

We love and live hospitality.

We believe in the power of party!

We are group of imperfect people who with God's help are pursuing our dreams...and achieving them. People's success in all areas of life is our passion!

Recently we had someone come and join us at Metro. She shares her experience this way:

Edmonton city street

"It is important to note that my perspective is coming from a place filled with negative stigmas and connotations surrounding organized religion or devotion to faith in God, so I also find myself noting all of the things that I thought religion had to be, that C3 is not. I have been to many churches and Bible camps, as well as a Catholic school that deterred me from ever wanting to be a part of a community that discriminates or judges. This is something that C3 is not.

The first thing that I became aware of was the warm and open atmosphere at C3. Everyone is smiling, everyone wants to be there and everyone cares that you are there. That is a great feeling. I have heard many people refer to church as an event in which they take time out of their lives to participate in. The C3 community seems to feel differently. They are not taking time out of their lives for church; the church is a part of their lives - and an important part at that.

The first time I came to C3 I felt curious, it was a new experience. The second time I came to C3 I felt vulnerable. I knew that as I walked down the stairs my walls were coming down, and all of my emotions and thoughts were on the surface for everyone to see. But, I didn't feel alone in this. What better way to communicate with God than to let go of any inhibition you might have. It was the environment and atmosphere that allowed me to do so. I appreciate that the people in the church are willing to admit their mistakes and they are not pretending to be perfect. They admit where they need growth because there is no judgment. This is unique."
